The story of Victoria Smith racing to become the first black, barrel racing champion with cystic fibrosis.
Barrel Racing
is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider attempt to run a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time. It requires a combination of the horse’s athletic ability and the horsemanship skills of a rider in order to maneuver the horse around three barrels placed in a triangle pattern within an arena.
ABOUT THE FILM
The Breath of The Barrel is a short film with an organic and poetic approach capturing a young woman’s passion to ride, compete and rise above disease. A film that contributes to the building of a young’s woman’s career to not only share her story but create a collective of sponsors to advance her journey. Directed and Produced by NICOL RAGLAND.
